FitScales Turns Old Wii Balance Boards Into Internet-Connected Scales

FitScales Turns Old Wii Balance Boards Into Internet-Connected Scales

Android: You may have jumped in on the fad when the highly aspirational Wii Balance Board promised to get you fit through select video game titles, but now it likely collects dust in sad corner of your house. With an app called FitScales, you can turn it into an internet-connected scale you might actually use.

Just like syncing a Bluetooth controller with your Android device, syncing your Wii Balance Board with FitScales doesn’t take much work. The app walks you through the process, and, once synced, you can start recording your weight. All you have to do is stand on the scale, wait a moment for FitScales to do its thing, and you’ll receive a message with your current weight and BMI. You can even sync that data with RunKeeper or Fitbit if you wish.

Note: FitScales is not compatible with Android 4.2 and higher due to how Bluetooth works in the latest version. If you have an older version of Android, however, you’ll have no trouble using FitScales.
