How To (Temporarily) Get Rid Of Facebook’s Graph Search

If you’ve had a peek at Facebook’s new Graph Search, and you don’t like the way it looks, you can get rid of it with a simple settings tweak. Here’s what you need to do.

This won’t stop other people from finding you via Graph Search, but if you just don’t like that bar at the top of your screen — or you think the old search was more useful — it’s easy to get rid of. Graph Search is only available in English (US) right now, so changing your language settings can bring back the old search behaviour.

  1. Head to your Facebook Account Settings and scroll down to Language.
  2. Click the Edit button and change your language to something like English (UK) or English (Pirate).
  3. Click Save Changes.

When you’re done, you should find that the old search has returned. This tweak won’t last forever, of course. Eventually, everyone will switch over to Graph Search, and you won’t have any say in the matter. This can help you out in the meantime.
