Splitwise Keeps Track Of Your Split Bills

iOS/Android/Web: Between eating out, grabbing coffees and sharing bills, you can rack up a lot of IOUs in day-to-day life. Splitwise helps you manage them with a simple ledger, and lets you pay back your debts via PayPal.

We've mentioned Splitwise a few times before, but it has matured a lot in the past year. It's now a fully-fledged IOU manager, helping you and your friends keep all your debts straight and easily payable.

You can add individual friends from your address book or set up a group, like your housemates (They don't need to be Splitwise members for you to manage your IOUs, but it's a lot more useful if they are). It even includes a handy bill splitter, perfect for when you're out at a restaurant and don't want to do the maths yourself (though only the web version lets you split the bill item-by-item). When you want to settle your payments, you can just send a quick PayPal payment to your friends right from Splitwise.

It may seem like overkill for the occasional lunch or after-work drink, but if you share expenses with your friends often, it can be a good way to keep track of who owes money to whom.

Splitwise is a free download for iOS and Android, as well as a free webapp for any platform.

another option is dapshare - been using it for a year now and its fantastic. Web only atm, but they are developing apps for the majors. free!

I prefer Tabulate for iOS. You log in with facebook and it grabs your friends from there. Makes it easier to start "Tabs" as they call it.

I recently created a website https://www.TrackABill.com for tracking, splitting, and sharing bills/costs and IOU's online to help take care of issues like this where someone (or a few people) pay the bill, and others "supposedly" will pay them back later.

You don't even need a PayPal account to pay someone back online with my site / web app... they can simply use any credit card that PayPal accepts, that way a friend can NOT use the classic excuse "I don't have cash and I don't have a PayPal account".

The main purpose of the site is for people who often share expenses with friends, family, & roommates... whether it is utility bills or rent within a shared living space, a concert you buy a group of tickets for, or a trip to Hawaii where you will be splitting/sharing many bills with a group of friends. You can easily track, manage, and then even pay each other back for bills online via your PayPal account.

Would love some feedback! It is completely FREE to sign up and use, and right now we are NOT charging any transactions fees for paying online with PayPal either!

I am always tweaking/adding features, so if you have any requests, please let me know and I will get on it.
