Page Eraser Hides Annoying Content

Chrome: If you'd like a cleaner look on some of the web sites you visit, Page Eraser will neatly and smoothly get rid of obtrusive ads, annoying comments streams and other page elements.

The idea isn't anything new — Adblock extensions have been doing this for years — but Page Eraser is so easy and quick to use that it brings content blocking to a whole new level.

If you see an ad or other page section you don't like, just click the Page Eraser button, highlight the section you want to get rid of, and click. You can undo your actions from Page Eraser's settings page at any time if you decide you want it back. Check out the video above to see it in action. As usual, we'll remind people that many sites (Lifehacker among them) rely on advertising for funding, so bear that in mind when you're on a blocking frenzy.

Page Eraser is a free download, works wherever Chrome does.

I might give this a go. I've found that ad blockers really slow down the actual browsing experience. Not the internet speed, but the smoothness of scrolling, etc. I wonder if this would be any improvement.

works, but for example if i set what i want hidden in and then go to an article in the site, it doesn't have my choices hidden.
    So... for the moment, uninstalled.

All this coming from someone who believes this, but still reads daily... but Luke, you would be breaking the lifehacker ethos if you actually tried a lifehack that's published. Next thing you know the author will be trying it out as part of the review!
