Enable Touchpad Gestures On Windows 8 RTM

I've you've downloaded Windows 8 release-to-manufacturing (RTM) to your laptop you may notice that you don't have any support for multi-touch gestures. Technology weblog CNET News discovered that until Windows releases official multi-touch drivers for Windows 8 installing the Windows 7 drivers from Synaptics will restore functionality.

Oddly enough the Windows 8 Release Preview included Elan alpha touchpad drivers so that early adopters could use multitouch but that was not carried over to the RTM release. Thankfully the Synaptics drivers for Windows 7 work fine until Microsoft gets around to an official release.

I set gestures through Synaptics up on my Lenovo Y570 yesterday, I don't know if it's just me but it seemed quite buggy and it wouldn't let me scroll horizontally back and forth through the metro start screen which is basically the only gesture I wanted.

but its not the windows 8 gestures, theres no swipes from the sides to bring up the additional menus (forgot what they called them), and the scroll on these windows 7 synaptics drivers I find to be really horrible and the pinch the zoom is aswell, I was really hoping the rtm was going to include the new drivers.
