Findings Collects Kindle Highlights For Easy Sharing And Discussion

One of the best features on Amazon’s Kindle (and its apps) is the ability to highlight blocks of text for reference later. The problem is that they’re not that easy to pull up on the device itself and while you can look on Amazon’s site, you can’t share those highlights. Findings is a webapp that does just that.

To get started, log into Findings with a Facebook or Twitter account. Then, you’ll need to create a bookmarklet or grab the Chrome extension to import your Kindle highlights. The Chrome extension can also be used to snag text from anywhere on the web. The end result is a nice collection of every important line you’ve highlighted while reading.

You can share these quotes with friends via email or post to your social networks. You can also browse through other people’s highlighted text and create hashtags so others can find them easily. It’s a little like Good Reads quote section, but fully automated and with built-in links to the actual text. If you’re a quote junky or you just want a better way to view your Kindle highlights, Findings is worth checking out.
