If your desk lamp is taking up too much space, a few readers over at IKEA Hacker discovered that, with a little bit of work, you can turn it into a fully functional wall hanging lamp and save yourself some room on your desk.
What’s nice about this is that by hanging it on the wall, your lamp no longer takes up any space on your desk, and you have a much wider variety of lamps to choose from — like the super adjustable Barometer Work Lamp they used from IKEA. All they needed to do was open up the bottom of the lamp, take the weight out, and hook the wiring up to the wiring in their wall. Then, with a few bolts, you’ve got a wall lamp that you can turn on and off with the room’s light switch. Hit the link to see more.
