Android: If you’re sick of typing your PIN, password or unlock pattern on your phone, Unlock With Wi-Fi will disable it whenever you’re connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
We’ve mentioned Unlock With Wi-Fi once before, but now it’s out of beta and has even more features designed to make your life easier. At its core, the purpose of Unlock With Wi-Fi is to disable annoying lock screen security when you return home. You can choose to keep your phone unlocked completely, or keep the regular “sliding lock screen” on whenever you’re at home. It’ll also keep things like the volume buttons from turning the screen on.
It also has a number of other handy features, like turning GPS, Bluetooth and data sync on and off when you leave or arrive at home. It also has a “lock delay” feature that will turn off the lock screen for a certain amount of time whenever you’re at home, so you can just hit the power button to turn on your screen (no sliding necessary). In theory, you could do almost all of these things with something like Tasker, but it’s really nice to have it all wrapped up into one, simple package. Check out the video above to see it in action, or just hit the link below to try it out.
Unlock with Wi-Fi is a $3.88 download for Android 2.1 and up. You can try out the free version before you buy to make sure it works with your phone, as it does have a few quirks on certain devices. Make sure to read the FAQ for all the caveats.
