Android: Free app Unlock With WiFi toggles your Android device’s security lock based on the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to.
A lot of us lock our Android devices with a passcode, pin or pattern lock for security reasons, but those security measures can be frustrating to use every time you unlock your device — especially in places your device is unlikely to be stolen, like when you’re at home. Unlock With Wifi allows you to set specific wireless networks as a type of safe zone where the app removes the pass code, pin or pattern lock from you device when you are connected, and sets the lock to active when you are not connected. For example, when I am at home and my device is connected to my home Wi-Fi, Unlock With WiFi disables the need for me to unlock my device ever time I turn it on; when I head out in the morning and am no longer in range of my hotspot, it automatically re-enables the lock on my device.
The app is super simple, but effective and easy to set up. It’s currently free until April 15th in beta over at XDA developers, then it will be available in the Android Market. Unlock with WiFi requires Android 2.1 or higher.
