Treadmill-plus-computer setups (treadputers or tread-desks) are great for getting your required daily exercise, but they sure take up an awful lot of space and can cost thousands of dollars. Editor Sarah Milstein created a DIY solution — that folds out of the way.
She and her friend built a sort of desk around an inexpensive fold-up treadmill using IKA shelving. There’s an adjustable shelf for the monitor braced to the wall and another removable one for the keyboard or laptop. Although still pretty big, this fold-away tread-desk is a nice multi-functional solution that fits even in small spaces.
