If you have an Android phone equipped with a hardware keyboard, you don’t need a search button or widget to start searching — just start typing on your keyboard.
It isn’t really a shortcut that needed to be faster, but if you’d like to remap that search key to something else, you don’t really need it. Slide out your keyboard and start typing — that’s all you need to do to search for apps on your phone, contacts, bookmarks, or even the web.
