Minimalist For Facebook Removes Home Page Clutter

Chrome: Facebook has gotten seriously cluttered over the years, and if you’d like to tone it down by removing, say, the Groups button, the Messages dropdown, or the ads, Minimalist for Facebook will let you tweak it to your liking.

If you’ve been a fan of Ansel Aantosa’s Minimalist extensions so far (for Gmail, Calendar and Reader), you’ll love his new Facebook extension. After installing, you’ll have the choice to remove your least favourite page elements, whether that means removing the sidebar altogether or just removing the sections you don’t really use like Groups, Messages, Chat, Pokes or anything else. As usual, you can also change the colour scheme of the site as well as remove the header altogether. You can also remove the ads completely, which is really nice.

It’s not the first Facebook tweaker out there, of course — previously mentioned Better Facebook is probably the most versatile out there, but also the most overwhelming if you want to change just a few things (and it seriously overhauls the interface by default, which most may not like). Hit the link to check out Minimalist for Facebook, and for more great Facebook tweaking, be sure to check out previously mentioned F.B. Purity, too.

Minimalist for Facebook is a free download, works wherever Google Chrome does.
