Pogoplug Beta Turns Your Computer Into A File And Print Server

You might recognise Pogoplug from their handy roll-your-own online fileserver product that we turned into a fully featured Linux webserver. Now they’re trying out a beta program for a new service that gives your computer the same abilities as a Pogoplug without purchasing the hardware. Sign up, install the Pogoplug desktop software, and suddenly you’ll have online access to your computer’s files from pretty much anywhere. This software will also help you enable remote printing, making it possible to print from mobile devices that have a Pogoplug app. (You’ll need to install Pogoplug’s print drivers to make this work, however.) The beta also has additional features to help you manage files and external drives you have hooked up to your machine.

If you’re looking for an easy way to get quick online access to your files when you need them, this new Pogoplug beta looks like a great option. Pogoplug is offering it for free at the moment, but it appears to be available for only a limited time. Go sign up now if you’re interested so you can get your beta invite code and give it a try.
