Google recently rolled out a big update to Wear OS with improvements including a new streamlined UI, better health and fitness tracking, and an all-around smarter and more useful Google Assistant. But as nice as that all sounds, software is just one piece of what you need to make a good smartwatch, because without the right silicon powering the device, gadget makers can only do so much.

If you like a little Google on your wrist, it’s time to start obsessively checking for software updates. According to Google, Wear OS users are getting a big update within the next month that will add (and change) gesture controls on your smartwatch, beef up Google Assistant, and make it easier to track your fitness.
Is it going to be called Pumpkin Pie or Peppermint Patty? Or how about Popsicle? Well, whatever Google ends up deciding on, if history is any indication, we're not going to know for sure until spring. So to hold us over, why don't we take a look at all the new updates and features Google showed off for Android at I/O 2018?
