I've been drinking soft drinks since I was a kid and can't get enough of the stuff -- Coke, Fanta, Pepsi, Sprite, RC Cola, Bisleri Chinotto, you name it. As I hit my mid-20s I'm beginning to wonder what all that sugar and caffeine is doing to my insides. Are there any healthy alternatives I can try? (And DON'T say water!)

Dear Lifehacker, I'm looking for a safe (and easy) way to remove stickiness from old plastic and rubber equipment. Some of my old gaming gear (gaming keypad, analogue sticks on my Dual Shock controller, gaming mouse, etc.) have developed stickiness. How can I remove it without damaging the components?

Predicting the future is near impossible -- but that doesn‘t stop us all from having a red hot go. Human beings have been predicting the future since the beginning of history and the results range from the hilarious to the downright uncanny.

One thing all future predictions have in common: they‘re rooted in our current understanding of how the world works. It‘s difficult to escape that mindset. We have no idea how technology will evolve, so our ideas are connected to the technology of today.

Dear Lifehacker, there was quite a bit of noise generated a few months back on paying GST on Netflix and governments blocking file sharing websites. I'm interested to know what's happened and if the sky has fallen in for any of the impacted users? (I don't currently use these services myself.)

Dear Lifehacker, I had a hard time studying when I was younger, I lacked commitment and wanted to get straight into the workforce. I have a full-time job at a media company, and while I have a good technical knowledge, I am noticing a lot of gaps and I think a lack of formal qualification is a factor. After discussing it with my other half, she suggested that I try to convince my boss to pay, or help to pay, for a formal qualification. How can I convince my boss to help me out with study? And are there any tax breaks I can take advantage of?

Dear Lifehacker, I'm thinking about buying a new laptop for programming (primary web development) and my eyes have fallen on the Dell XPS 2015 (1920x1080). It seems awesome in every aspect, but I am a little bit worried about the 13" screen. The resolution seems fine, but 13 inch seems really small (I've only used 17" and 15" laptops.) Long story short: Is 13" Full HD too small for programming?

Dear LH, I have been recently watching YouTube videos on how to make homemade crossbows and dart guns and stuff like that. My question is: is it legal to make homemade crossbows and dart guns in Australia? Thanks, Aussie Rambo

Hi Lifehacker, I've recently finished high school and am now preparing to move out of the family home and into the real world, like many my age. Only problem is, I have no idea how it works.

Dear Lifehacker, I've been waiting for the LG G4 since the early teasers and have just seen that it won't be in Australia until mid-July. Or I can order a grey import today for about $200 cheaper. Assuming I buy from a reputable vendor and do my research to get the model that supports Australian LTE bands, what are the disadvantages of a grey import phone? Or are they basically the same?
