Microsoft has released a bunch of patches for critical security vulnerabilities in its Windows operating systems. Here are the details.
In Microsoft’s Security Bulletin summary for December, the vendor listed out 12 patches, eight of which carried the “critical” rating, for various versions of Windows and the pre-loaded software the vulnerabilities affected. These included Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Office, Skype for Business, Microsoft Lync and Silverlight.
The majority of the patches were for protection against remote code execution. Microsoft has urged customers to apply the security updates as soon as they are made available through the Windows Update tool.
