Hack New Lights Into Your Car Interior

Regardless of the production year, it seems a lot of cars don’t have decent lighting systems in the interior. DIY blog PlastiBots decided the best solution for finding missing objects in the dark was to add LED lights into the footwell controlled by a small switch.Using one of the empty slots on the dash, a touch capitative sensor controls the state of the Lego-mounted LED lights. It takes a bit of work to cut into the dash and wire everything, but if you’re the type to perpetually drop things on the floor of your poorly lit car, it’s a handy means to easily find your stuff again. You can find the whole guide to making it yourself over on PlastiBots, as well as a guide to doing the same to the rear overhead.
