If you want a quick and easy way to mount your phone or MP3 player to your car’s dashboard, reader Craig Lloyd shows us how with a simple office supply.
If you want to mount your electronics somewhere on your dashboard, it can become a bit difficult to make that happen. Nowadays, most mounts only come with those suction cups for windshields. You could make a custom mount (like those featured on Lifehacker), but I’ve discovered an easier way which only takes a minute or two. Take a 3M Command Strip and stick it to the back of your gadget or mount. Then you can place it anywhere on your dash. I did this with my old iPod Mini and belt clip combo. Works like a charm!
You probably wouldn’t want to keep one of those on your gadget at all times, but if you have a case in which the gadget easily clips, you could stick the gadget on your dashboard and put it on that way too. The Command Strips are strong and easy to take off if you ever change your mind.
