The streaming app has certainly improved since its 2008 launch, and if you’ve kept the same display name all these years, you might be looking for a change. While you can’t change your username (that one is permanent), you can edit your display name—that’s the one that appears publicly when people go to your profile or check out your playlists.

If you’ve become disenchanted with your original choice of display names in Spotify, you can change it on the mobile app and the desktop by following four easy steps.

How to change your Spotify display name on your phone

1. Launch the Spotify app on your Android or iOS device. Press the ‘Home’ icon, then choose the Settings gear symbol.
2. Select “View Profile,” which is just below your display name.
3. Tap “Edit Profile.”
4. Click on your display name to modify it. You can also update or add a new profile photo at this point. Remember to save your changes afterward.

How to change your Spotify display name on your computer

1. First, click the downward-facing arrow next to your display name, located in the upper-right section of your Spotify window.
2. Tap “Profile” from the menu that appears.
3. Click on your profile name and edit it to your liking.
4. Make sure to hit “Save.“
