Britney Spears’ new book, The Woman in Me, has officially landed, and it’s safe to say that folks are excited to get their hands on the new memoir (our office is listening to Britney music as I type this). The book dropped on October 25 (it will land on Audible at 6:00 pm), and is already ranked as the number one bestseller on Amazon books. So, what do you need to know about the memoir, and where can you grab it? Here’s everything you need to know about Britney Spears’ The Woman in Me.

Britney Spears’ new book: What’s it about?

The Woman in Me is said to be an emotional journey through the tumultuous life of Spears and the many men who have wronged her throughout it – not least her father and the conservatorship that controlled her life for 13 years.

The memoir is described as follows:

The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Written with remarkable candor and humour, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Reviews have shared that the book covers her relationships with past loves (yes, Justin Timberlake makes an appearance) and her treatment at the hands of the paparazzi.

What are people saying about The Woman in Me?

Per Good Reads’ 2,000 (plus) reviews, Britney Spears’ book is currently sitting at a rating of 4.49/5 pretty damn good. The Guardian has called the memoir “a stinging rebuke”; the BBC referred to it as “an angry, cautionary tale” and Variety has written that The Woman in Me “suggests that not much progress has been made in not destroying the women we all purport to love”.

Britney has spoken out about the reactions the book is receiving with a lengthy Instagram post. She wrote, “My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means.”

“I don’t like the headlines I am reading … that’s exactly why I quit the business four years ago.”

Where to find the new Britney Spears book
