Per Good Reads’ 2,000 (plus) reviews, Britney Spears’ book is currently sitting at a rating of 4.49/5 pretty damn good. The Guardian has called the memoir “a stinging rebuke”; the BBC referred to it as “an angry, cautionary tale” and Variety has written that The Woman in Me “suggests that not much progress has been made in not destroying the women we all purport to love”.
Britney has spoken out about the reactions the book is receiving with a lengthy Instagram post. She wrote, “My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means.”
