The Samsung Galaxy S10+ Battery Is Bloody Spectacular

A flagship smartphone literally lives and dies on the strength of its battery. If you need to charge it more than once a day, no amount of fancy features can save it.

Fortunately, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ – available from Samsung today – has a mammoth 4,100mAh battery. The real-world tests are now in, and it has been crowned the longest-lasting battery by a considerable margin. Here are the results.

12 hours and 35 minutes. That’s how much uninterrupted web browsing the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus will give you before its battery needs to be topped up. For average users, this easily equates to more than 24 hours between charges.

The results come courtesy of the Tom’s Guide Battery Test which tracks continuous web surfing over 4G LTE with the screen set to 150 nits of brightness. As you can see in the table below, the S10 Plus smashed the previous record holder by over an hour.

To put these results into perspective, I’m currently using the Huawei Mate 20 Pro which only managed to place sixth in the above table. Despite being a heavy mobile internet user, I only charged the phone once over the weekend.

The phone’s battery also performed well outside of official test settings. As Tom’s Guide explained:

“After using the phone for taking photos, checking emails, listening to music and playing some games starting at 7am. on a typical day, we were down to 17 per cent at 8pm, which is very good endurance.”

It’s worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a smaller 3,400mAh battery. Based on previous Galaxy phone results, you can expect its battery life to last a few hours less than the Plus variant.

In other words, it might be worth stumping up the extra cash for the Samsung Galaxy S10+ over the regular version; particularly if you hate running out of juice at the end of the day. In my honest opinion, removing that aggravation from your life is definitely worth a $150 premium.

The Samsung Galax S10+ will be hitting stores on March 8. Customers who pre-order before this date will score a free pair of Galaxy Buds valued at $149.99. Click here to get your freebie!
