A rental truck gets lousy mileage when compared to a consumer vehicle, which means it’s going to be more expensive to drive in heavy traffic. Your own vehicle, weighed down, also costs more to drive during peak times.
If your move is longer than a few hours, use those peak times for a rest break or a meal. Moving can be rough, so don’t add fighting rush hour to the mix.
