How Does Your Data Centre Performance Compare To Facebook’s?

Facebook has unveiled new public dashboards that disclose power usage effectiveness (PUE) and water usage effectiveness (WUE) for its two American data centres. If you’ve ever wanted to be able to tell your boss ‘Hey, we do this more efficiently than Facebook’, this is your chance.

Facebook has shared annual performance data in the past, but the new dashboard offers a regularly refreshed view of data centre performance. When we checked in, the current data was on a 2.5 hour delay. You can also see graphs of 7 day, 30 day, 90 day and one-year trends.

Facebook has also open sourced the code used to build the dashboard, to encourage other data centre owners to share their data. Come on, Apple, you know you want to.
