Use A Foaming Soap Dispenser To Make Detergent Last Longer

Dishwashing detergent is highly concentrated, so it’s easy to use more than you really need if you’re just cleaning up a few plates. This clever hack stretches that bottle of detergent and helps you use an appropriate amount.

Snapguide user Amber Spies suggests putting a few tablespoons of detergent in a foaming hand soap container, and filling the rest with water. Then, just stir it up and replace the cap. The foam that the bottle creates will be easy to spread across the surface of a pan or plate, and should still be potent enough to tackle most dirty dishes. As an added benefit, this will let you go months without buying a new bottle of detergent.
