A Six-Stage, One-Year IT Infrastructure Plan

We offered up lots of advice during our World Of Servers coverage from the Gartner Infrastucture, Operations & Data Center conference last week. But if you want that compacted down to a simple action plan, this six-point action plan does the job.

The plan, presented by David Cappuccio during his keynote and then repeated several times during the conference, offers three separate time scales.

Immediately, you should assess current projects and prioritise the most important ones. Three months from now, look at your capacity needs and whether you have adequate staff for current plans. Over the next year, review your current overall setup and establish how it will impact business plans. Simple, but enough to begin planning without feeling overwhelmed.
