MisHaps Unobtrusively Puts Your Contact Info On Your Misplaced Phone’s Lock Screen

If you have a lock on your phone, it can be hard to get it returned when you lose it. misHaps puts your contact info right on your lock screen so you can get it back quickly and easily.

We’ve shared some slightly less advanced ways of doing this before, but misHaps does a great job of staying out of your way when you don’t need it. Instead of always appearing on your lock screen, misHaps will only appear after the screen has been turned on for a certain amount of time (between 5 seconds and one minute).

You can set a message, name, phone number and email address, as well as contact info for an emergency contact (if you were in an emergency and someone found your phone). It’s completely unobtrusive, but a great safeguard to have in place if you lose your phone. Of course, if you’ve already lost your phone, you can try and get it back with previously mentioned Plan B, too.

misHaps is a $0.99 download for Android devices.

    • Sort of like the tip I heard ages back, never put your actual address in your GPS, always put around the corner or down the street.

If they steal your car with your keys, most of the time your house keys are on the same key chain. All the thieves have to do is press “go home” on your GPS and not only do they have your car, but also free reign of your house as well.

This is a good app though for emergencies, it is always important to have ICE (In Case of Emergency) info on you at all times.

  • Or you could make sure to note your IMEI so if you lose it, you can report the correct number to police? Let’s face it, if it doesn’t get handed in, you won’t see it again anyway.
