Android: SemiSilent gives you control over which calls get through and actually ring your phone, and which calls quietly go to voicemail. With it, you have the power to decide who’s important enough to get through to you at all times.
In most cases, you can either turn your phone’s ringer on, set it on vibrate, or turn it off entirely. Sure, you can set different rings for different people in your contact list, but if you’re about to head into an interview, the last thing you want is your phone to ring because your current boss is calling you.
With SemiSilent, you can pick and choose people from your contact list who are allowed to reach you at all times, and others who go to voicemail. Simply start the app, select those people, and set your phone to silent. Then, if one of the people on your list calls, the app will turn on your ringer so you get the call. If someone else calls, your phone stays quiet. You can even set special ring and vibration settings for SemiSilent calls.
The app is ideal for those situations where you want to get a good night’s sleep, but you’re on call at work for some reason, or you’re working and don’t want to be disturbed but you do want a spouse, child, or family member to be able to reach you in case of emergencies.
SemiSilent is free and available now in the Android App Market.
