AirDroid 4 Lets You Share Files With Nearby Friends, No Internet Required

Android: AirDroid is one of our favourite Android companion apps, and now it’s getting a pretty big update. The coolest new feature lets you share files with people near you, even if you don’t have an internet connection.

AirDroid’s new Nearby feature lets you scan for other AirDroid users near you. Once you’ve made a connection, you can transfer files between your devices directly. If you don’t have Wi-Fi, you can use the Initiate option to create a direct link between your devices and start moving files that way.

The new AirDroid also comes with an updated interface, some speed improvements and some remote management features. You can now sign out of accounts remotely with AirDroid and choose which screens should show your mirrored text and phone call notifications. Check out the full release notes below. The updated apps should roll out over the next few days.
