Clearing leaves from gutters is a necessary evil. Fortunately you have a few options that are designed to keep your gutters clear of debris and allow water to flow unobstructed through the gutter and downspout.
Tom Silva of This Old House shares a few gutter protection options in this video that range in price and installation. Covering the gutter is the easiest option, which relies on surface tension to direct water back into the gutter while preventing leaves from falling in.
You can also opt for all-in-one gutter replacement that includes the gutter and cap.
