Get Rid Of Tape Residue With Duct Tape

Tape often leaves a sticky residue when you remove it. Redditor Odnetnin90 points out that the culprit can actually be the cure.

You can get rid of the stickiness with a little duct tape:

I used duct tape to hang posters in my apartment and it left that sticky residue on my walls. Take the duct take and just stick it to the wall over the residue in order to remove it without tearing off any paint.

I tested this out by sticking some duct tape to a mirror and blow drying it for a while to make the adhesive stickier, then letting it cool. When I pulled it off, there was a residue. Using the other half of the same duct tape not stuck to the wall, I pressed it against the residue and pulled the tape off. With the exception of a tiny bit on the edge of the mirror, the tape removed the residue easily. Nothing wrong with a self-solving problem!
