Just as the name implies, No Root Screenshot It is an Android app (and companion desktop utility) that allows you to take, edit, and share screen captures from your Android device without rooting it first. If you don’t want to root your phone just to get easy, consistent screen captures and you’re willing to tolerate pairing the app with a desktop companion utility, No Root Screenshot is for you.
No Root Screenshot It has been around for a while, but it’s one of the most consistent methods to take a screenshot on a stock Android phone that we’ve seen. Once installed, the app then pairs with a desktop utility that the developer also provides (Mac and Windows are both supported) and once connected, you can take screenshots on your phone whenever you like. If you restart your phone at any point, you’ll need to reconnect it to the desktop app, however, and that’s a bit of a downer.
Aside from that, the app works like other screenshot utilities for Android that require rooting first. You can shake to take a capture, tell the app to live in the notifications pane and open it there, or set a delay timer so you can open an app or bring up a menu first. Additionally, No Root Screenshot It also lets you annotate and crop screenshots, and uses the inbuilt share menu to let you push them to the web, email, or other apps.
