When I was a kid, I knew kids who could walk on their hands. I figured it was the kind of thing almost anybody can do if they bother to try to learn, like cartwheels or riding a bike. I couldn’t, but, well, I just didn’t want to. I’d practise someday and then I’d be a master of walking on my hands.

Every box jump involves a leap of faith. You’ll probably land on top of the box, on your feet, and not make it into one of those box jump fail compilation videos (seriously, do not Google). But how do you convince your brain and body that a solid landing awaits?

Crossfit's intense workouts are a polarising subject of discussion. It seems the first rule of Crossfit club is that you must never shut up about Crossfit club, and on the flip side, the sport (routine? Discipline? Hobby?) has its share of haters. So let's take a minute to cut through that for anyone who's intrigued but isn't sure what they would be getting into and whether it's worthwhile.

I did box jumps for the first time last week. I mean, I've probably jumped on boxes before, but I only recently visited a gym that had a dedicated plyo box. A box made for jumping. It was fun.
