The iPad makes for a great writing and drawing surface, and Bamboo Paper is an app that knows it. While it was designed by Wacom to work with their iPad stylus, you can use it with any capacitive stylus or just your finger.Bamboo Paper is not complicated to use. You only get one notebook, but you get as many notes as you want and three different styles of paper (lined, blank and grid). You can also change the colour of your notebook, email the entire thing as a PDF (my favourite feature), or print it out using AirPrint. You can do these things with individual pages as well, plus you can save any page to your iPad’s photo library.
While this is definitely not an app made for complex drawing, you do have a few pen tip widths and colours to choose from. You can undo and redo pretty much everything you write/draw, and you can bookmark pages so you remember they’re important. Navigation is pretty simplistic, in that you just have buttons to move you back and forth. This is fine for a few notes, but when you have many it could get to be a problem. There are three features Bamboo Paper could use: multiple notebooks; the ability to name note pages; and a table of contents page for each notebook. Solving these problems would make Bamboo Paper pretty awesome, but it still does a good job when you need a simple, hand-written digital notebook.
