In terms of savoury no-cook sauces, it's hard to beat pesto. You can spread it on bread, toss it with grilled vegetables, drizzle it on fish, or use it as a pasta sauce. Though it's usually made with fresh basil, it can actually be made with almost any green thing, including kitchen scraps.

There are a lot of reasons to eat seaweed -- it's good for you, it's good for the environment and so on -- but I mostly eat it because I like the taste. It has a savoury, slightly funky flavour that's great in sushi, soups and salads, but I'm particularly interested in the seaweed pesto from Epicurious.

One thing all future predictions have in common: they‘re rooted in our current understanding of how the world works. It‘s difficult to escape that mindset. We have no idea how technology will evolve, so our ideas are connected to the technology of today.
Strawberries are a most precious product, and wasting even just a bit of one them seems wrong. If you have some fruit still clinging to the stems, you can use them to create a tasty infused water, but the little green leaves have another application: Pesto.
