Mac: iTerm has long been our favourite terminal emulator for the Mac, and over the weekend the next big update entered into public beta. It's packed with a ton of new features.
Mac: If you need to route audio from one Mac to another, say, from a microphone to Skype to Audacity, the go-to tool has long been the often baffling, occasionally unreliable Soundflower. Loopback is a new app that does the same basic thing, but makes it a heck of lot easier to manage.
We were fans of CleanMyDrive when it was initially released, because it made managing multiple external drives a lot easier. Now, with a recent update, the app's even better.
Mac: Gatekeeper is a great feature in OS X that prevents applications from unidentified developers from opening up, which helps keep malware off your computer. Advanced users don't really need it though, but when you turn it off, it reenables itself after 30 days. Thankfully Terminal can solve this problem.
