Make These Variations on TikTok’s Whipped Lemonade

In recent days, you may have seen a new lemonade recipe making the rounds on social media. Called “whipped lemonade,” it’s made by whipping one-fourth of a cup of heavy cream with two tablespoons of powdered lemonade mix. Once the cream has been whipped into soft peaks, you spoon the mixture into a small glass filled with one cup of water and a handful of ice cubes, after which you stir or shake the mixture. The result is a creamy, tangy, lemony goodness that brings back nostalgic memories of classic lemonade, while the cream adds a certain gravitas.

The bright tang of citrus, combined with the heft of cream, is an underrated combination, which you’ll know if you’ve ever made some of our no-churn citrus ice creams. If you’ve already made whipped lemonade (and I recommend that you do), you’re sure to like these other variations of lemonade.

How to make Brazilian limeade

Brazilian limeade is made with whole limes and sweetened condensed milk. To make it, cut four limes into eight pieces each, and put them in a blender along with half a cup sweetened condensed milk and four cups of water. Blend for no more than 15 seconds, as blending too long will make the limes bitter. Then, use a fine mesh strainer to strain the juice into a pitcher filled with ice. When serving, garnish with some slices of lime and if you so desire, some mint leaves.

The result is a lightly sweet, milky limeade. If you like yours to be a little on the sweeter, add in some more sweetened condensed milk. If the whole limes are a bit too much, you can substitute in lime juice. Either way, it’s the perfect summer drink.

How to make whipped frozen lemonade

If you want your whipped lemonade to be on the frosty side, then whipped frozen lemonade is the answer for you. Whipped frozen lemonade combines the creaminess of a milkshake with the brightness of citrus. To make it, combine half a cup simple syrup, half a cup lemon juice, one cup of full-fat coconut milk, and two and a half cups of ice in a blender. After blending, pour into four eight-ounce glasses.

How to make whipped Cordial

If the taste of powdered lemonade makes you nostalgic, then so will whipped Cordial. Whipped lemonade is, at its most basic, whipped cream sweetened with lemon-flavored sugar. If lemon flavour isn’t your thing but you miss that artificial taste that only comes out of a brightly coloured packet, then substitute in two tablespoons of sugar mixed with a little bit of cordial.

Before you know it, you’ll be back at summer camp, bad hair, blotchy skin, braces and all. Given the hell-scape of a year we’ve just survived, those days may not have been so bad after all.
