How To Find And Ditch The Instagram Accounts You Interact With Least

Maybe once a month when I’m scrolling through Instagram and come across a post from someone I didn’t realise I followed in the first place.

There was a period of time, back in the early days on Instagram, where I would follow almost anyone I came across that had an account. And then there are always those people you meet at a party or wedding that you follow and tag in a handful of pictures, but five years down the line no longer need or want to keep up with.

In most cases, the people in question aren’t regular Instagram users, so that random post I come across might actually be their first since that party we decided to connect on the platform. This week Instagram made it a ton easier to find those people you don’t remember following in the first place.

Now within the Instagram app, you can click “Following” (from your profile page) and then see a list of the accounts that are shown the most in your feed as well as the accounts you interact the least with.

That “Least” list can come in handy if you’re trying to trim down your Following list. Within that, you’ll be able to easily pinpoint accounts that don’t post very often or post you don’t seem to “like” very much. Going through my own I found a handful of brand accounts that I actually like following but don’t interact with, as well as a few of those random that I don’t remember why I followed in the first place.

If you’re looking to clean up your Instagram account a bit, it can be an easy way to do a little trimming.
