Video: I have long been a fan of Taco Bell’s Crunchwrap Supreme. It’s cheesy. It has sour cream. It’s in an interesting, supposedly portable shape. It has a lot going for it, but unfortunately it isn’t available in Australia.
Taco Bell’s meat also doesn’t have a ton of flavour, and the cheese sauce could use a little pizzazz.
To make a Crunchwrap that’s practically gourmet, we made two big changes. First, we actually browned the beef, and added some warmth to the usual taco seasoning with a little bit of cinnamon. Next, we used melting salts to transform a fancy cheese into a gooey queso, then folded it all up into that famous hexagon, along with shredded lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream.
