Read Your Kid’s Mind With This Magic Trick

You can’t read your kid’s mind. If you could, you would know that his new favourite colour just became turquoise, even though you just bought him a cup that is blue, his favourite colour from three hours ago. But you can make him think you can read his mind, thanks to this super fun trick posted on Reddit by u/trongs24.

The YouTube channel Mind Blown Magic Illusion breaks the trick down:

As you can see, if you try to do the trick on your kid’s friend or someone you don’t know, it probably won’t go so well. In those cases, Mind Blown Magic Illusion suggests using a forced playing card as one of the questions. (This is where you ask the spectator to pick a card, but you force them to select the one you’ve pre-selected.)

Now, the next time your kid tries to sneak something past you, you can say, “Hey, I know what you’re thinking.”
