Optus’ 100GB SIM-Only Plan Is Now $45!

This is not a drill. Optus is selling 100GB mobile plans for just $45 a month. That’s a data increase of 25% and a saving of $60 over the course of a 12 month contract! You can also score extra data on its $40 SIM-only plan. Here are the details.

If you’re on the lookout for a new BYO mobile plan, Optus’ 100GB $45 promotion is the best by a massive margin. We’re talking 50 cents a gigabyte here!

This is easily the strongest data deal we’ve seen from a major telco in a long time. It’s available to new and re-contracting customers and has a minimum 12-month contract.

If you don’t need that much data, $40 per month gets you 50GB. Both plans come with unlimited calls/text and the ability to add entertainment extras like Optus sport. The $45 plan also comes with 4GB of roaming data.

Here are the full inclusions. (Note: The $50 plan will show up as $45 when you click through.)

For our money, the Telstra $45 plan is worth the extra $5 per month – in addition to a massive 50GB data injection and the aforementioned roaming data perk, it also comes with unlimited international phone calls to 35 countries. (The $40 plan only offers 400 minutes’ worth.)

Here’s how that 100GB deal compares to similar offerings from other telcos:
