If your Android device has been suffering from less-than-stellar battery life over the past few weeks the culprit might be Netflix.
Technology firm Mobile Enerlytics discovered this week that the Netflix app running in the background on some Android phones was causing significant battery issues.
On a Nexus 6 running Android 6.0.1, for instance, the phone’s battery drained more than 20% sitting idle overnight, BGR reports.
As it turns out, a number of users have been reporting similar issues from April through December of last year.
The issue appears to only impact devices running Android 6.0.1, but that’s still 17% of Android users.
Luckily, there’s a simple solution to the issue: update your app. The latest version of the Netflix app, 7.8.0, corrects the issue, so if you’re having issues then the best and easiest solution is to just download the fix.
