Four iPad Keyboard Shortcuts You Didn’t Know About

Four iPad Keyboard Shortcuts You Didn’t Know About

If you work on an iPad with an external keyboard, you can take advantage of some of the same keyboard shortcuts that come on a Mac. The Sweet Setup lists good keyboard shortcuts that particularly matter to iPad users, including these less obvious ones…

  • Press and hold the down arrow to bring up the software keyboard without undocking.

  • Command-H to go to the home screen.

  • Command-shift-T to re-open the last closed tab.

  • Command-shift-D to send an email in Mail.

The Sweet Setup also lists shortcuts for the apps Bear, Ulysses, Adobe Lightroom CC, and Things 3.

The tricky thing is that while a lot of shortcuts are the same on iPad and Mac, some are a little different, or work a little differently: Command-tab only cycles through your last ten apps. You’ll have to get used to the little tweaks in your workflow.
