Dealhacker: Get Tangerine NBN For $49.90 A Month

A few weeks ago, we reported on a pretty sweet NBN deal from the oddly named Tangerine Telecom. At $69.90 per month, it was one of the cheapest NBN 100 plans we’d seen in a long time – and also one of the fastest.

Welp, it turns out that Tangerine has a bunch of even cheaper NBN options available, with prices starting at under $50! Here are the details.

Tangerine’s $49.90 Basic NBN offering gets you unlimited data on a contract-free plan that you can cancel at any time. Click on our interactive table for a full list of inclusions:

Here’s how the pricing compares to other Basic NBN plans from rival telcos:

Before you sign up though, there are a few caveats to be aware of. First and foremost, the $49.90 pricing is only available for the first six months. It then jumps to $59.90. (But because there’s no lock-in contract, you can take your business elsewhere as soon as the six months are up.)

It also isn’t the fastest plan on the block, with typical evening speeds of just 10Mbps. If you’re into online gaming and HD video streaming, this could be problematic.

Fortunately, there are plenty of faster no-contract plans available – some of which have speeds of up to 83Mbps. Here’s the full suite of no-contract NBN plans from Tangerine Telecom:

The plans above all come with a 14-day “risk free” trial. In other words, if you cancel within two weeks of signing up, you won’t be charged anything.

Now all you need to do is choose an appropriate speed tier for your needs. You can read up on how the various NBN speeds compare below. Good luck!

It may not breathe fire, but it will certainly give you nightmares. When you sign-up for an NBN plan – whether it’s the first time or if you’re switching – there are countless decisions to be made. The most important of these is speed.”]
