The Best Huawei P30 Pro Plans From Telstra, Vodafone And Optus

The Huawei P30 range is finally available in Australia. If you’re keen to get your hands on the phone but can’t afford to buy it outright, you’re going to need a plan from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone. Here are the best available plans from each telco.

The Huawei P30 Pro is hotly tipped to be the best smartphone of the year, especially when it comes to photos and battery life. With a feature-packed quad camera designed by Leica and a massive two days of battery life between charges, there is plenty for prospective buyers to get excited about. We described it as the ‘Iron Man’ of smartphones – which really isn’t overstated the tech it brings to the table.

You can read about the P30 Pro’s specifications in the article below. Now, onto the plans…

The P30 Pro – AKA Huawei’s Quad Camera Leica phone – has officially launched. Boasting a 40-megapixel sensor for improved low-light photography, a 5X optical periscope zoom, an ultra-macro lens, dual optical image stabilisation and a massive 50x digital zoom, it’s being billed as the most advanced smartphone camera system ever. We’ve personally tested it and for once the hype is justified.

Telstra

Interestingly, Telstra has opted not to carry the Huawei P30. Instead, it’s sticking to the premium model. These plans are a little pricier than the competition, but if you’re stuck with Telstra, go for the $99 Mobile Plan option. This gets you 50GB of data for $119 per month, or $2856 over 24 months (including phone repayments.)

Vodafone

In terms of bang-for-buck, Vodafone falls somewhere between Optus and Telstra. Its plans for the P30 and P30 Pro start at $80.79 and $101.62, respectively. On the plus side, there are some generous extras being offered right now – depending on the plan you plump for you can score up to 70GB in bonus data. Unlike Optus and Telstra, Vodafone is also offering 12-month contracts.

Optus

Optus currently has five available plans for the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. Prices start at $65 for the P30 and $80 for the P30 Pro. However, both these plans only come with 4GB of data which makes them pretty useless unless you’re constantly connected to Wi-Fi.

For our money, the best option from Optus is the $85 My Plan Plus plan – this nets you 50GB of data per month. Plus, the price remains under $100 after factoring in the phone repayments, which is psychologically soothing. For this plan, you’re looking at a total minimum spend of $2040 for the P30 and $2280 for the P30 Pro over a two-year contract. (Also worth noting: Optus is currently offering the dual-SIM version of the phone. Telstra and Vodafone only have the single-SIM version.)
