Rediscover Random Netflix Episodes With This Web App

We all have a few shows that we love. When that show is seven or eight seasons long, choosing which episode to rewatch on a Saturday afternoon can be a bit of a challenge. For me, that typically means watching the same five or six episodes over and over again, but there’s something to be said for giving some of those episodes you don’t really remember another chance.

Shufflix is a web app that randomizes a number of popular shows on Netflix, and offers a suggestion for what you should watch right now. For instance, clicking on Friends suggests that I watch Season 6, Episode 22: The One Where Paul’s the Man.

If you like the suggestion you can tap “Watch This!” to launch a Netflix player (you need your own Netflix account) and start watching. If you hate the suggestion, you can ask for another one.

Right now Shufflefix only supports 21 shows, but they’re good ones. Some personal faves from the mix include Arrested Development, The Office, Breaking Bad, and of course, Friends. It does have shows that aren’t available on Australian Netflix, but you can either ignore them or watch them on other streaming services like Stan and Amazon Prime.

The tool can be a great way to rediscover episodes of shows you’ve forgotten. After coming across it I personally fell down a Friends rabbit hole. It’s fun to reminisce with old episodes at random, and while I could have certainly gone through Netflix on my own and found this episode (and the others I watched) on my own, I probably wouldn’t have.
