Facebook, Instagram And WhatsApp Are Down

First it was Gmail – now Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook aren’t working for some people. Here’s everything we know so far.

Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram have stopped working for a bunch of people around the globe. While the mobile apps load without issue, a bunch of features are currently inaccessible. The desktop/browser version of Instagram also appears to be down.

According to a report on the Verge, some users have been unable to sign into apps like Tinder or Spotify via their Facebook accounts. The issue has also knocked multiple Oculus services offline.

The reports first surfaced in the early morning (AEDT) and all three services continue to be causing headaches for users. Facebook has released a statement confirming it is aware of the problem.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” the company said on social media.

The company has not explained what is causing the issue other than to say it is not related to a DDoS attack. More to come.
