The human body simply isn’t built to sit all day at a desk or vegging out on the couch. To avoid the health risks, we need not just 30 minutes of daily exercise, the infographic advises, but taking every opportunity to get up during the day.

Admittedly, some of the information below could be construed as hysterical scaremongering – especially the headlines – but it does contain some useful and interesting tips. We’re particularly intrigued by the suggestion of reclining at 135 degrees to put less strain on your back. We’d always assumed that 90 degrees with a straight back was the best posture to adopt while sitting at a desk. Let us know what you think in the comments!
