Optus is ringing in the new year with one of the best bang-for-buck BYO phone deals we’ve seen in a long while. For $41.25 per month you get a whopping 80GB of data, free access to Optus Sport and unlimited streaming for Netflix and Stan! Here are the details.

There are two SIM-only deals on offer here. You can get a 50GB plan for $40.50 per month, or an 80GB plan for $41.25.

Clearly, the smart choice is the $41.25 deal, which works out to an additional 360 gigabytes over the course of a 12 month contract for just $9 extra. Bargain!

The plan also boasts free Mobile TV Streaming which provides unmetered access to Netflix, Stan and ABC iView channels without using your plan’s data. (Normally, this service costs an extra $5 per month.)

With Mobile TV Streaming unlocked, you can also add Music Streaming, an Optus Sport subscription and the National Geographic app, all free of charge. Click on the interactive table below for the full inclusions:

Originally set to expire on January 13, the deal has been extended to February 3. Get on it!

  • The 80GB is amazing. I signed up a week or so ago. I was only a couple of months into a contract on the $35 for 30GB plan, and they agreed to let me upgrade without a fee (after some haggling).
