Good tidings we bring, to you and your SIM! The festive period is always a great time to bag a bargain, and there’s no exceptions when it comes to phone plans. If you’re after a new smartphone or even just a new plan, we’ve picked out of some of our favourite Christmas telco deals and offers.
If you’re thinking about switching to Telstra, $49 per month will currently get you 60GB on a 12-month SIM-only contract. To be frank, this one of the best Telstra offers we’ve seen to date, at least in terms of data-for-dollar.
There is however a catch: you can only sign up to this plan if you’re a new customer. If you’re an existing Telstra customer, you can get it for $59 per month, which is still a discount on the plan’s standard $69 per month access fee.
This offer runs until December 19.
If you’re after a new phone, Telstra is currently selling the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S9 for $69 per month on a 30GB plan. This also gets you a bonus Google Home Mini.
If you’re not after a Galaxy S9, the Galaxy S8, iPhone 6s, OPPO R15 Pro, and Google Pixel 2 XL are all available on the same plan for the same price. The Galaxy S9 is definitely the best phone to get in terms of relative savings, however.
If you want the bonus Google Home Mini, you’ll need to sign up for this deal before December 24, but there’s currently no set end-date for the $69 phone plan.
Optus is discounting its SIM-only range, offering up to 25% off plans until December 19. The deepest discounts have been reserved for the telco’s 80GB plan, which is now available for $41.25 per month.
Here is the complete range of discounted Optus SIM-only plans. These are all sold on a 12-month contract.
Optus is also offering 12 months of free Netflix to anyone who buys a Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, or Galaxy Note 9 on a 24-month contract before January 13. The 12-month Netflix subscription gets you access to the $13.99 Netflix tier, which lets you watch on two screens at once and in high definition.
Vodafone’s best festive offer is also on a SIM-only plan: $40 per month gets you 50GB per month on a 12-month contract. This plan also includes $5 per day roaming and over 1,000 international minutes for calling select countries. If you don’t need quite as much data, Vodafone will do 35GB for $35 per month. Here’s Vodafone’s current SIM-only range.
These offers are available until December 20.
Southern Phone is celebrating Christmas with some great discounts on its Telstra-powered “Orange” plans. Prices have been slashed across the entire range, but we’d say the 15GB for $30 per month plan is one of the best bang-for-buck Telstra network deals around right now. Especially because it’s entirely contract-free.
These discounts are available for a limited time, but Southern Phone hasn’t set a concrete end date.
