Battle Your Friends With Galaxy Phones In Samsung Health Fitness Challenges

One of the things that has kept me locked into owning a FitBit is competitions. Every week three friends of mine and I participate in a “Workweek Challenge” that we somehow still find the time to trash talk in even after a few years. I love a good competition, and FitBit competitions have been the inspiration for many an extra walk or run on a Friday over the years.

The friendly competition has definitely made me a tiny bit more active, and it’s something I’ve missed every time a FitBit band has broken or I’ve lost a tracker — to a point I’ll go buy a new one almost immediately.

If your friends don’t have FitBits but they do have Samsung phones (or you’re my dad), you can also start a challenge within Samsung’s Health app.

The feature offers a lot of the same stuff you get from Fitbit, but within the app on your phone, with no need to rock an external fitness tracker. You can challenge other friends with Samsung devices to a friendly competition, or use the app to track your steps on your own and see how you stack up to other people.

To set things up launch the Samsung Health app on your phone and then tap the “Together” button at the bottom of the page (if you’ve never used the app before you’ll need to agree to some stuff first).

Afterward, tap the “Friends” button to add your pal. For this, you’ll need to know the email address your friend has associated with the app. If they happen to be there with you then you can also scan a QR code on their device that’s found on the same page.

Once your friend accepts, you can create one-on-one challenges for you both where you can see each other’s steps and trash talk while you battle to be the first to reach the goal you set.
